Description

"Some nuts like to be alone, others are best in pairs. Hazelnuts belong to the second kind."
Shelled Hazelnuts | The Nut That Pairs
Hazelnuts: for flavours that like company
Liovela Shelled Hazelnuts – a lightly sweet taste and crunchy texture.
The ingredient list says shelled hazelnuts and nothing else. They have a natural, lightly sweet taste and a crunchy texture. You can eat them straight from the hand, but they show their character in company: chocolate, coffee, honey, pear, blue cheese. That's why we wrote this description a little differently. Instead of listing what they are, we show what they get along with best.
What To Pair Them With
Three classic pairs
The duo everyone knows
Hazelnut and dark chocolate are the foundation of half the confectionery classics. Crunch against smoothness, nothing more needed.
Next to the cup
The nut's lightly sweet taste softens the bitterness of espresso. A handful beside your coffee, or chopped into biscotti.
For the board and the salad
Nuts with pear and blue cheese, or with figs and goat's cheese, add crunch and balance salty notes.
Homemade Spread
Chocolate hazelnut spread in 10 minutes
Spread 150 g of nuts on a tray and roast for 8 minutes at 170°C until fragrant. Blend while still warm in a powerful blender for 8–10 minutes, scraping down the sides now and then, until smooth.
Add 50 g melted dark chocolate, 2 tablespoons of cocoa, a pinch of salt and a spoonful of honey. Stir, pour into a jar and keep in the fridge.

Premium Packaging
Protects what's inside
Hazelnuts contain 60 g of fat per 100 g, which easily reacts with oxygen and loses its fresh aroma. That's why we pack them in a doypack (stand-up pouch) with a high oxygen and moisture barrier and a resealable ZIP.
Close the ZIP after every handful and the nuts stay crunchy.

Did You Know?
The plant that wakes up first
Hazelnuts grow on the hazel shrub, which is one of the first plants to flower in the year: yellow catkins appear in late winter, before anything else turns green in the garden. The nuts ripen only in summer and autumn, so what ends up in the pack is the result of a whole year of waiting.
Who Liovela Hazelnuts Are For
For people who love combining flavours
For those who like to cook, bake and experiment, and for those who just want a handful of nuts with coffee. For people looking for a single-ingredient product that is high in fibre. And for anyone who knows that homemade chocolate spread tastes different when you roast the nuts yourself.
Frequently Asked Questions
The most important answers (FAQ)
1. What do hazelnuts taste like?
They have a natural, lightly sweet taste and a crunchy texture. Roasting intensifies the aroma.
2. Do they need roasting?
No, they are ready to eat. A short roast (8 minutes at 170°C or a few minutes in a dry pan) boosts the aroma, especially for spreads and cakes.
3. How do I make homemade chocolate hazelnut spread?
Roast 150 g nuts, blend until smooth (8–10 minutes), add melted dark chocolate, cocoa, honey and a pinch of salt.
4. How many nuts make a sensible portion?
A handful, i.e. 20–30 g, about 125–190 kcal. Hazelnuts are energy-dense.
5. How many calories do hazelnuts have?
100 g of product provides 627 kcal, of which 60 g is fat.
6. Are they high in fibre?
Yes, 9.5 g per 100 g. That is enough for the product to be described as high in fibre under EU rules.
7. Does the product contain allergens?
Hazelnuts are tree nuts, so the product contains nuts. It may also contain traces of peanuts, other nuts, sesame seeds and cereals containing gluten.
8. Are they suitable for small children?
No. The product is not suitable for small children because of the choking risk.
9. Can there be shell fragments in the pack?
The nuts are carefully checked, but individual pieces may exceptionally contain shell remnants. It is worth glancing at the handful before blending.
10. How should I store the nuts after opening?
In a dry, cool place with the ZIP closed tightly. The oxygen and moisture barrier pack helps keep the crunch.
