"The best creams start with something that crunches first."
Whole Cashew Nuts | Sweet-Buttery Flavour, One Ingredient
Cashew nuts: crunchy dry, creamy once soaked
Liovela Cashew Nuts – a snack for today and a base for kitchen creams tomorrow.
There is exactly one ingredient: cashew nuts. No added salt or oil, nothing that would need explaining. Cashews naturally have a sweet, buttery flavour and a crunchy bite – which is why they work as a snack at your desk or on the go, and in the kitchen, where they do something no other nut can: soaked and blended, they turn into a smooth, creamy base. Plant-based cream, milk, cheese sauce or dessert cream all come from a single handful. We choose the nuts carefully, and we also care about what happens to them after packing.
Two Faces of One Nut
Sometimes it crunches, sometimes it envelops
A crunchy snack
A handful with your coffee, in your bag, on a hike. A sweet, buttery flavour and a crunch that needs nothing added.
A smooth, creamy base
Cashews soaked for 2–4 hours blend into a silky mass. It's the base for cream in soups, sauces, desserts and plant-based "cheese" – no cooking and no thickeners.
Premium Packaging
The cream is only as good as the nut you make it from
Cashews are rich in fat (46 g per 100 g), and that fat is sensitive to oxygen. In an ordinary bag the nuts gradually lose freshness and pick up a rancid aftertaste, which only shows in the cream when it's too late. That's why we pack them in a doypack pouch with a high oxygen and moisture barrier with a resealable zip.
Open it, take what you need, close it – the rest waits for the next cream.
In the Kitchen
What to make with cashew nuts – 7 easy ideas
Plant milk in 3 minutes
Blend a handful of soaked cashews with 500 ml of water until smooth. Straining is usually unnecessary – the nuts dissolve into the milk without leftovers. For coffee, porridge or on its own.
Plant-based "cream" without cooking
Blend 100 g of soaked cashews, 150 ml of water and lemon juice until smooth. Stir into tomato, pumpkin or mushroom soup at the end of cooking.
Velvety sauce for pasta
Blend cashews with water, nutritional yeast, garlic and a little salt. Warm it up and pour over pasta – the sauce behaves like a cheese sauce but is fully plant-based.
A cream that sets in the fridge
Blend soaked cashews with lemon juice, coconut oil and syrup. Pour over a base of crushed biscuits and chill for several hours.
A snack like from a fair
Heat a pan, add a handful of cashews, a spoonful of honey and a pinch of salt. Stir for a minute until coated and lightly browned, tip onto baking paper. They crunch once cooled.
A takeaway classic at home
Fry chicken pieces with peppers, then add a handful of cashews and soy sauce with a little honey at the end. The nuts stay crunchy if you add them just before serving.
Creamy and naturally lightly sweet
Blend 300 g of cashews for several minutes, scraping down the sides now and then, until they release their oil and turn into a smooth paste. Plain or with a pinch of salt.
A handful for today, a cream for tomorrow. Add Liovela Cashew Nuts to your basket.
Cashew Nuts | The Numbers
Honest about what's inside
19 g of protein per 100 g – and 46 g of fat, because it is a nut after all.
100 g of product provides 588 kcal, 19 g of protein and 3.3 g of fibre. That is enough to be described, under EU rules, as a source of protein and a source of fibre. The fat content is 46 g (of which 9 g saturated), so cashews are a high-calorie product – a sensible portion is a handful, or 20–30 g. Salt is only naturally present at 0.04 g per 100 g. You'll find the full nutrition table at the bottom of the page.
Good to Know
Why can't you buy cashews in their shell?
The cashew tree grows unusually: the nut hangs outside the fruit, beneath the so-called cashew apple. Its hard shell contains an irritating substance, which is why the nuts are always processed before being cracked. That's why you won't find cashews in their shells in shops like walnuts or hazelnuts – they are always shelled.
Who Liovela Cashew Nuts Are For
For people who want one nut for everything
If you like crunching a handful with your coffee but also experiment in the kitchen, cashews are for you. Especially if you cook plant-based or dairy-free and are looking for a base for creams, sauces and desserts with a mild, lightly sweet flavour. And if you simply prefer products with one ingredient on the label – here it is.
Frequently Asked Questions
The most important answers (FAQ)
1. Are the cashew nuts salted?
No. The ingredient is solely cashew nuts – we add neither salt nor oil.
2. What do cashews taste like?
They naturally have a sweet, buttery flavour and a crunchy bite. They're milder than almonds or walnuts, so they suit both sweet and savoury dishes.
3. How do you make cream from cashews?
Soak 100 g of nuts for 2–4 hours, drain, and blend with 150 ml of fresh water and lemon juice. You get a smooth, creamy base for soups and sauces.
4. Do cashews need to be soaked?
Not for eating. For blending into cream or milk, soaking is worthwhile (2–4 hours, or 10 minutes in hot water), as they will then blend smooth even in an ordinary blender.
5. How many calories are in a serving of cashews?
100 g of product provides 588 kcal. Like most nuts, they are energy-dense – a sensible serving is 20–30 g, or about 120–175 kcal.
6. Are they a source of protein and fibre?
Yes. At 19 g of protein per 100 g, the product meets the EU criteria for the claim "source of protein", and with 3.3 g of fibre also "source of fibre".
7. Does the product contain allergens?
Cashews are tree nuts, so the product contains tree nuts. It may also contain traces of peanuts, other nuts, sesame seeds and cereals containing gluten.
8. Are cashews suitable for young children?
No. This product is not suitable for young children because of the choking hazard – whole nuts are a real danger for children who can't yet chew hard pieces of food well.
9. Could there be pieces of shell in the pack?
We check the nuts carefully, but individual pieces may occasionally contain shell fragments. It's worth glancing over a handful before blending.
10. How should I store cashews after opening?
In a dry, cool place with the zip tightly closed. Thanks to the packaging with an oxygen and moisture barrier, they stay fresh for longer.
